Dental Assistant with Pediatric Experience
Children’s Volunteer Health Network is a faith based non-profit mobile dental service that provides preventive and restorative dental care to underserved children at Walton and Okaloosa County elementary schools, located on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida. We are in search of a highly self-motivated Dental Assistant who has experience in pediatric dental care and can become a valued member of our Restorative Mobile Dental team. Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Range $13-$18.00 based on experience; hourly, non-exempt position

Schedule:
8 hour shift: approximately 6 hours patient care ; 2 hour administrative tasks
Monday to Friday
Follows school schedule with administrative duties performed during school closures
The Restorative Mobile Dental Clinic serves in the community during summer vacation
Clinical Setting:
Mobile Dental Clinic with locations at multiple elementary schools and charity partners
CVHN is an educational setting providing an Internship Program for Dental Assistants

Responsibilities:
Following HIPPA confidentially guidelines collects necessary patient information and accurately documents in patient chart -EPR
Provides hygiene care and post op instructions to patient/guardian
Assist our Dentists in the delivery of all necessary pediatric dental procedures, clinical charting, setup/breakdown and patient movement to and from classrooms
Strong communication skills to accurately deliver necessary information to dentists, patient, parent/guardian and other staff members
Build relationships and trust (with patients\guardians, team members and elementary school personnel)
COVID-19 Precaution(s):
Personal protective equipment provided and required
Temperature screenings
Sanitizing, disinfecting, and cleaning procedures in place
Highly recommended that children/patients to wear masks while waiting on the Restorative Mobile unit.
Qualifications:
Strong computer skills – electronic patient records in use
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, OneDrive, Microsoft Excel, Dexis, and Dentrix/Dentrix Ascend experience preferred
Must be organized, detail oriented, and accurate
Must be able to adapt to change when necessary & maintain a positive attitude
· Must be willing to travel extensively to the multiple elementary schools we serve
· Must be willing and highly motivated to aid in the education of our Dental Assisting Interns
Education/Experience:
· Dental Assisting: 2+year (required)
· Florida X-Ray Certification (required)
· Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
· Pediatric setting experience (required)
· Certified Dental Assistant (preferred)
