Circle of 100

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world.

It is the only thing that ever has. –Margaret Meade

The purpose of the Circle of 100 is to bring together like-minded individuals who understand and firmly believe in the above quote. Whether it is a world or one child that needs immediate healthcare, we as a circle can change a world perspective by using our financial support, our time and our voices. A circle symbolizes strength and continuity. It is an unyielding entity that is complete and whole. Paradoxically, for a community to be self- sufficient, it must rely on individual talents and gifts.

Children’s Volunteer Health Network relies on that belief because the Circle of 100 provided the initial grass roots funding that launched this non-profit in 2005. Many said it could not be done but many of you said it could and today we have helped over 500 kids get the healthcare they need by facilitating over 1900 appointments through our volunteer network.

It is a time for your recommitment and new commitments. As the economy slows, the needs grow. This past year marked the beginning of our Mobile Dental Clinic program, Just for Grins. Since the start of the 2008-2009 school year, Just for Grins has provided dental exams, cleanings and sealants to over 700 children.  Our intention is to see more than 1,000 children this school year alone. We need your involvement to continue changing the world for these children.

Times are difficult for many. We all seem stretched. However, with each pledge, we have enlarged our circle and the opportunity to make a difference.

–Martin Victor Hansen
