CVHN Drug Card to provide Free prescription drug cards to the people of Florida

Florida residents can purchase discounted medicines with the state’s new Florida Prescription Drug Card Program. Everyone is eligible to participate in the program and there are no restrictions, no income limits, no age limits and no application to complete.

Free prescription drug cards can be downloaded by visiting www.cvhnkids.org and printing a card. The card is preactivated and can by used at any participating pharmacy to receive a discount on medicines. Members save up to 75% on their prescriptions with an average savings of 30%. A complete list of participating pharmacies in your area can be found on the Web site by clicking the “pharmacy locator” link. Participating pharmacies include Publix, Walgreens and K-mart pharmacy.

The Florida Prescription Drug Card Program was launched to help the uninsured and underinsured people of Florida afford their prescription medications. However, the program can also be used by those who have health insurance coverage and those covered through Medicare.

This program is powered by UNA Rx Card which is a division of United Networks of America. Brian Oliver, EVP, noted “the Free Rx program has brought almost $66,000,000 in prescription savings to members around the country in the short history of the program with calendar year savings for 2007 projected to approach $100,000,000.” The UNA Rx card is the fastest growing discount prescription card company in the U.S. Children’s Volunteer Health Network has partnered with UNA to bring this service to Northwest Florida.
