Children’s Volunteer Health Network Hires Executive Director

Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN) would like to welcome Dr. Mary Konovsky who has joined the organization as its Executive Director. Dr. Konovsky received her Ph.D., M. A. & M.B.A. from Indiana University. She was a faculty member and Senior Associate Dean at the Freeman School of Tulane University before she moved to Santa Rosa Beach 3 years ago. While at Tulane, Mary was a founder of the Freeman School’s Ph.D. program for faculty at top business schools in Latin America. She is published in several academic journals. Mary received the Freeman School’s Outstanding Service Award for exceptional service and commitment to the Freeman School and the Tulane community for her work from 1986-2004.

Since moving to Santa Rosa Beach, Mary has written grants for local non-profit organizations. She raised $600,000 in grant funds for the Scenic Corridor Association where she served as Executive Director for 2 years. Mary joined CVHN as a grant writer in early 2007. As a result of her work with the CVHN staff and Board, the Blue Foundation for a Healthy Florida awarded CVHN a grant for its dental bus program. “CVHN is so pleased to have Mary join us as the Executive Director. We feel fortunate to have someone with Mary’s skills and impressive credentials continue to grow and strengthen our organization. Mary not only brings her academic and business background but has a true heart and passion for children,” noted Tricia Carlisle Northcutt, CVHN President and Founder.

As Executive Director Mary will be responsible for the continued development of CVHN as it extends its services to all uninsured and underinsured children in Walton and Okaloosa Counties who cannot afford medical, dental or mental healthcare. Mary looks forward to discovering and meeting the challenges that lie ahead as CVHN grows to meet the healthcare needs of the children in these communities. “We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated group as CVHN working to meet our communities’ healthcare needs,” she stated.

Children’s Volunteer Health Network, Inc. is a faith-based, 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to enhance the lives of uninsured and underinsured school-aged children by facilitating free immediate access to medical, dental and mental health care.
