Children’s Volunteer Health Network Celebrates Three Years with the Circle of 100 Celebration

On May 3, 2008 Children’s Volunteer Health Network will hold its first Circle of 100 appreciation party to celebrate those who contribute $1000 or more annually to CVHN. The CVHN mission is to enhance the lives of uninsured and underinsured school-aged children by facilitating free immediate access to medical, dental and mental health care. According to CVHN President and Founder, Tricia Northcutt: “We are so grateful for the generosity of our Circle members. This financial support provides the foundation we need to grow and expand the healthcare services needed in our communities.”

CVHN recently acquired a new mobile dental clinic which will provide eligible kids preventative dental care and education. Executive Director Dr. Mary Konovsky believes that “educating our children at an early age about the importance of oral hygiene is the key. And we need the continued strong support of our community to be able to achieve our mission of ensuring that all kids have the opportunity to be healthy and reach their potential.”

The new CVHN dental program, Just for Grins, will go to community elementary schools starting in September and provide preventive dental care to children on the free or reduced lunch programs. “The Just for Grins program is so important,” Jane Bahr, CVHN Board Member and Treasurer remarked. “Healthy children make better students.” Since its inception, CVHN has helped over 400 local children with more than 1600 healthcare appointments at no cost to the families.

The Circle of 100 was the initial grass roots funding arm that launched CVHN on April 22, 2005. The campaign goal is to get 100 people to donate $1000 each year to CVHN to support its healthcare programs. The May 3rd party will have a Moroccan theme and is scheduled from 6pm to 10pm at Caliza Pool at Alys Beach. There will be food, fun and dancing under the stars. Music will be provided by the fabulous Tip Tops and a special menu will be prepared by famous local Chef Imondi, a graduate of the Johnson and Wales Culinary School.

Donations to CVHN and the Circle of 100 can be made monthly, quarterly or once a year. To learn more about CVHN and the Circle of 100, call us at 850-622-3200, email us at admin@cvhnkdis.org or visit the CVHN web site at www.cvhnkids.org
